August marks a time of endings and beginnings for us at CEF of NAL as we transition from our summer ministry to our school-year ministry.

The summer ministry is incredible and fast-passed. It's almost like conducting multiple mobile VBS's every day for several weeks in June & July.
This summer was much the same but also beautiful and unique in its own way. God blessed us with clubs at previous locations, new locations, and some where we have not been since the COVID shutdown.
We as staff (Jim, Rachel, Kathryn, and Bisi)  had the privilege of serving with two wonderful volunteers: Maggie and Jill.
We were also able to produce new video content for our social media to reach many children with whom we would not otherwise be able to connect and share the Gospel.

While numbers can only give a glimpse at what God did this summer, here is a snapshot from the summer ministry:

  • 19 clubs

  • 460 children heard the Gospel

  • 13 children made salvation decisions

  • 1 adult at a location made a salvation decision

  • 225+ mail correspondence start lessons were given to children

  • 13 videos were produced

  • 7 of 13 videos published so far, 730+ views

Before the summer ministry was finished, plans were underway for the Good News Club (GNC) ministry for the school-year. One step in helping GNC volunteers be ready for clubs to begin is having training opportunities to learn and sharpen skills. Three GNC Teacher Trainings were conducted this month!

  • 19 clubs: 18 5-Day Clubs and 1 monthly Party Club

  • 13 salvations [plus 1 adult]

  • For financial partners who fully funded the summer ministry

  • For new connections with local churches and individuals who are interested in partnering for ministry

  • For our Good News Club volunteers and team leaders

Prayer Requests

  • For leads for future GNC partnerships and for more GNC’s to start/restart in the fall• For more volunteers in several GNC’s

  • For many parents to allow their children to attend GNC’s

  • For a GNC team to form and start a GNC at one 5-Day Club location that would love to have a GNC to minister to the children during the school year

  • For more ministry partners – prayer, financial, and volunteer
